Petr Cikhart (Director of Photography)

Petr Cikhart was born and raised in Prague, and developed his camera skills while working for Czech television. As a cinematographer, he has traveled to more than seventy countries for projects including CBS’ The Amazing Race (winning a Primetime Emmy in 2007), National Geographic’s critically-acclaimed series Be the Creature and Crisis Zone: Doctors Without Borders, Farmingville, which won the Special Jury Prize at the 2004 Sundance Film Festival, Showtime’s Gangs: Escaping the Life, and Lucy Walker’s Blindsight, which won the Audience Award at both the 2007 Berlin and Palm Springs Film Festivals. Petr is now based in Los Angeles, and is transitioning into fiction features. Recent credits include Zeny, Ktere Nenavidi Muze and Esclavo de Dios (dir. Jose Ramon Novoa) and Ghosts of the Pacific (dir. Brian Falk). Petr is currently in Argentina filming Elia K. Schneider’s Tamara.
